Session 1: Magazine analysing

Before this session I had never analysed a magazine in the same way, I would just read some of the articles and look at things like the styling or photography. Now I have understood the importance of each section of the magazine and specially how to analyse them. It is very interesting to see how everything is very precisely thought and calculated to engage the reader. One specific thing that I have learnt is the difference between an advertisement and an advertorial. I had never realised that it was even a thing so now it is nice to look at a magazine and know what everything is and why it is that way.

I have done a thorough analysis of Dazed and Vogue magazine.
